Richard James LaReau age 83, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026 in Stratford, Connecticut.

Richard was born and raised in Bridgeport. He served in the Air Force, then received an undergraduate degree from Sacred Heart University, and pursued a career in corporate communications. During his life in Stratford, Richard was an avid reader, cook, and gardener, and was a member and past Exalted Ruler of Milford Elks Lodge 1589.

He was predeceased by his father and mother, Wilfred and Mary LaReau, his brothers, Gerald and Donald, and his sister, Monica.

Richard will be remembered by his brother, William; his former wife, Patricia; their children, Kara Bowers and Jenna LaReau, and his other family members, neighbors, and friends.

Friends may call on Friday, July 10 from 10 – 11:30 am in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, CT. A prayers service will take place at 11:30 followed by interment in St John’s Cemetery Stratford.
