Richard S. Bialko, age 90, of Monroe, beloved husband of Katherine Gilbert Bialko, passed away on August 18, 2026. Dick was born in Poultney, Vermont, on August 28, 1935, to the late Peter and Mary (Sobolewski) Bialko, and was a longtime area resident. He was a graduate of Bullard-Havens and earned his B.S. in Engineering from Bridgeport Engineering Institute. Dick was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired as a Manufacturing Engineer from Sikorsky Aircraft. 

Dick was an avid golfer and one of the founding members of the annual Richard Cranium Invitational Golf Tournament, a tradition that reflected his humor, friendship, and love of the game. He was also an active member of St. John’s Russian Orthodox Church in Bridgeport. Above all, Dick will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his integrity, and the lasting memories he created with those who loved him.

Survivors, in addition to his beloved wife of 66 years, include his devoted children, Wendy Blaisdell, Diane Murray, Richard N. Bialko and his wife, Michele, and Lynda B. Engstrom and her husband, Harold; six cherished grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his brother, Peter, and his sister, Jeanette McGee.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 24th, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. A Requiem Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, 364 Mill Hill Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Monroe. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Dick’s memory to St. John’s Church.
