Raymond T. Matthews, age 78, of Stratford, beloved husband of Sharon Tabaka Matthews, passed away on December 18, 2023.

Raymond was born in Bridgeport on July 25, 1945, to the late Roman and Stella (Lenda) Swaikowsky and had been a lifelong area resident. He earned his associate's degree from Perdue University and his bachelor's degree from the University of Bridgeport. Raymond was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Viet Nam War and was the retired proprietor of John M. Glover Insurance Agency.

Survivors in addition to his wife of 52 years, include his devoted children, Jason Matthews and his wife Ann, Jill Ransome and Brian Matthews, 3 cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Jane, and Jack. In addition to his parents, Raymond was pre-deceased by his sister, Tracy Rafter.

Funeral services are private and have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford.
