Phyllis L. (Gautiero) Babasick, age 83, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Babasick, passed away on June 18, 2017 in Bridgeport Hospital. Phyllis, a retired sales associate for D.M. Read's Department Store was born in Bridgeport, CT on December 1, 1933 to the late Anthony and Margaret (Sabo) Gautiero and has been a life long area resident. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at St. Mark's Church for many years and took joy in participating in their many service projects to help others. Phyllis also loved the Christmas season and was known for her intricate handmade ornaments. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her devoted sons, Paul Babasick of Houston, TX, and Dr. David (Babasick) Lauren and his wife Beverly of Huntington, 2 grandchildren, Andrew and Olivia Babasick, and 3 step-grandchildren, Brendan, Brianna, and Brody Biebel, a sister Barbara Edwards and her husband Rudy of Newtown, a brother Richard Gautiero of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Phyllis was pre-deceased by her infant son, Michael. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 1 ^st at 10 a.m. meeting directly at St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
