Peter S. Soltis, age 70 of Stratford, passed away on Friday February 23, 2007 at the Jewish Home in Fairfield. Mr. Soltis, a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, was born in Poultney, Vermont to the late John and Susie Soltis and had been a long time area resident. He was a retired caretaker for Mountain Grove Cemetery and had worked as a machinist at Bridgeport Machines for over twenty years. He was a member of American Legion Post # 139. Survivors include his beloved wife Mary F. Soltis, his devoted children Peter Soltis and his wife Theresa of Shelton and Sandra Tokarz and her husband Christopher of Seymour 2 cherished grandchildren Kaitlin and Kristin, a brother Michael Saltis and his wife Marge of Stratford, 3 sisters Helen Bobko of Stratford, Anna Kellemen of Bridgeport and Mary Towler of Brandon, VT and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by 3 brothers Alex, George and John and a sister Katie Strogie. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday February 28th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery Monroe.
