Pauline O. Proctor Prater, age 79 of Bridgeport, widow of George Prater passed away on Wednesday February 20, 2008 in St. Vincent's Medical Center Bridgeport. Mrs. Prater, a retired cafeteria worker for the City of Bridgeport Board of Education, was born in Hughston, West Virginia to the late Hansford and Erma Proctor and has been a long time area resident. Survivors include her beloved children Vicki Buchla and her husband John of Shelton, Allen Prater and his wife Patty of Sutton, MA, Valerie Prater of Fountain, CO, Michael Prater and his wife Cissy of Bridgeport, Anita Prater and her husband Jimmy of Naugatuck, Judith Dempsey of Fountain, CO, David Prater and his wife Cindy of Bridgeport, Sandy Akers of Portsmouth, NH, Donald Prater of Waterbury, Kathy Cerquozzi and her husband Mike of Colorado Springs, CO, Diane Weller and her husband Keith of Fountain, CO, Brad Prater of Bridgeport, 26 grandchildren, 27 known great-grandchildren, a sister Melba Ballard of Hughston, West VA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was pre-deceased by a son Mark and a brother Leo Proctor.
