– Paul A. Lahr Sr., age 84 of Stratford passed away on Wednesday January 11, 2006 in St. Vincent's Medical Center Bridgeport. Mr. Lahr, a retired self employed printing salesman, was born in Wilkes Bare, PA to the late Archie and Anna Lahr and has been a life long area resident. He was a WW# II Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp and was a recipient of a Purple Heart and was a POW. and was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 7788, American Legion Post # 34, the association of former POWs in Romania and the 449th Bombardment Group "Flying Horseman" and was also a long time member and usher at St. James Church, Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years Doloras Pahler Lahr, 4 devoted children Paul A. Lahr Jr. and his wife Doris of Milford, Sister Dolores Lahr, CSJ of New Britain, Linda Lahr Hadyka and her husband Michael of Boise, ID and Susan Lahr Judd and her husband Grant of Cotuit, MA, 4 grandchildren Charles Snyder Jr, Deborah Fogler, Melissa Lahr Thomas and John Hadyka, 6 great-grandchildren Thomas and Kayla Snyder, Meghan, Jared and Riley Fogler and Reagan Lahr Thomas and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother Charles Lahr. Funeral services will take place on Saturday January 14th at 8:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 9 a.m. in St. James Church Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will be in State Veteran's Cemetery Middletown.
