Obituary

Paul Anton Kurbikoff, age 74 of Beacon Falls, CT, beloved husband of Marien (Katinger) Kurbikoff, passed away peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital on March 10, 2023, with his loving family by his side.

He was born on December 2, 1948, in Jordan and was the son of the late Anton Kurbikoff and Raymonde (Goldstein-Ferrari) Kurbikoff. After growing up in Bridgeport, CT Paul spent 4 years proudly serving in the United States Navy before starting his career at General Electric in Bridgeport, where he met the love of his life, Marien, and worked for 40 years up until his retirement.

He always went above and beyond for his family, working overtime and taking on carpentry side jobs when he could, all while being an involved father coaching sports, helping with science projects, and chaperoning school field trips. He was also passionate about giving back to the community and volunteered countless hours over the years with Habitat for Humanity and The United Way. He loved spending time with his family, both near and far, and cherished every moment as a proud father and grandfather.  Paul also enjoyed his classic cars and going to car shows where he made many close friends, playing pool with his friends in the condo clubhouse, creating delicious meals as "Chef Paul" in the kitchen, and spending time outside on the deck in the spring and summer.

In addition to his wife Marien of 45 years, Paul is survived by his daughter, Erin (Kurbikoff) Barkasy and her husband Russell, son, USMC Major Karl Kurbikoff and wife Lisa, along with three cherished grandchildren, Alexander and Marisa Kurbikoff, and Aubrey Barkasy. He also leaves behind two loving brothers, George Kurbikoff , and Peter and Maria Kurbikoff, along with many nieces and nephews. He also cherished his special relationship with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Elaine Katinger.  Paul was predeceased by his two sisters, Evelyn (Kurbikoff) De Aguila and Helen (Kurbikoff) Butler, whom he loved dearly, along with a six-year-old brother Paul Kurbikoff, and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, father-in-law, and friend. To know him was to love him. His quick wit, perfectly timed humor (often unintentional!), captivating storytelling, and overall presence was extraordinary and will be missed forever.
