Patricia Ann Simes Balis, age 72 passed into Heaven on August 9 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on March 26, 1942, she graduated from Harding High School and went on to work at GE for over 30 years. She married Michael Balis who retired from the town of Stratford after 35 years. She raised two amazing daughters, Pamela and Christine. She dedicated herself to supporting them and offering unconditional love. Their home and pool always welcomed neighbors as family. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, traveling, and especially enjoyed spending many hours quilting with her lifelong best friend of over 70 years; Eileen DiBecelle. Pat leaves behind her devoted husband of 52 wonderful years, Michael Balis, her adoring daughters Pamela (Dan) Scinto of Seymour and Christine (Dennis) DaMato of Oxford. She will be sorely missed by her loving grandchildren: Daniel and Rachel Scinto, and Haley and Nicholas DaMato. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara (Richard)Widomski and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother Mildred Matrenyski, her father Marshall Simes, and sister Mabel Harcarik. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 10 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Grace Stratford with a Mass of Christian Burial Entombment will take place in St. Monica's Mausoleum in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Trumbull.
