Oleg Schimanski, age 95, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Eugneia Nitchke Schimanski, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in Ludlow Health Center, Fairfield. Mr. Schimanski, a retired engineer for Remington-Rand was born on September 14, 1921 in Kiev, Russia to the late Alexander and Margarita Schimanski, and has been a long time area resident. He was pre-deceased by his children George and Irina. In addition to his beloved wife Eugenia, his granddaughters, Tammy and Marissa, survive him. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday April 11 ^th at 8 a.m. in Presentation of Christ in the Temple Russian Orthodox Church 5 Wheeler Terrace corner of Nichols Ave Stratford for a Divine Liturgy and Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery Bridgeport. A Panachida service will take place on Monday at 7 p.m. in the church. The Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
