Celebration of Life
Norman Shepard passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, with his loving wife Lynn by his side.
Norman was born in Bridgeport on June 27, 1933, to Norman and Irene Shepard. He graduated from Bassick High School and enrolled in the United States Air Force where he spent the next four years. While stationed in Burlington, Vermont, Norman met his first wife Diane Giroux Shepard and raised their six children in Stratford until Diane passed away in 1990. He was a State Trooper and later an Inspector for the States Attorney’s Office in Bridgeport.
He later married Lynn Hallstrom and the two retired to the Villages Florida where he spent the next 33 years enjoying a resort life, that they loved. He enjoyed golf with his many golf buddies. Norman loved singing in the first Baptist Church Choir. He loved having his family and friends who came to visit. After becoming ill, they moved back to Stratford to be with family. He spent a lot of time enjoying his grandchildren and their many sports activities, graduations and other events the kids were involved in.
Anyone who had the privilege to know our Grandpa Norman knows what a loving, generous and caring person he was.
Norman was predeceased by his parents. His two sisters, Madeline Sheping and Beatrice Buda and his most beloved son, Seth.
Norman is survived by his loving wife Lynn, his three sons, Steven (Susan), Scott (Hoon Hee), Stuart and his two daughters Susan and Stacey Aurelia (Ralph) and daughter in -law, Hallie. He had 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren that he adored, in-laws, Carl Hallstrom, Debra Ward, Barbara Hallstrom, and Christine Girgasky; along with several nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life at 11 a.m. On April 16th at the Covenant Church, 1 Sport Hill Road, Easton, CT.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home-Stratford.
