Nikodema Sokolowski, age 98, beloved wife of the late Anthony Sokolowski, passed away on December 6, 2022, at the Carolton Health Center in Fairfield, with her family by her side. Nikodema was born in Poland on November 8, 1924, to the late Franciszek and Czeslawa (Wiercinska) Wojenski and had been a longtime Stratford resident after emigrating from Poland in 1959 with her family. She worked at Remington Electric for a number of years. Throughout her life she was a devoted member of Holy Name Church and St. Michael the Archangel Church, where she was a member of the choir. She loved music, singing, and dancing. She also loved to cook, bake, sew, crotchet, and was an avid gardener. Her favorite past-time was spending time with her great grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Christine (Kacprzynski) Sokolowski of Southbury, 5 cherished grandchildren, Tanya LaBonia and her husband Len of Southbury, Donna Jacobellis and her husband Frank of Norwalk, John J. Sokolowski and his wife Andrea of Ansonia, Jannell Bianchi and her husband Michael, and Joseph Castelot and his wife Jennifer all of Branford, 11 great-grandchildren, Isabella, Natalie, Bobby, Oliver, Miles, Hudson, Luca, Strummer, Cora, James, and Jacob. Her brothers, Frank Wojenski and Piotr Wojenski and his wife Teresa, and sister, Antonina Bilski and her husband, Jan, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Nikodema was pre-deceased by her loving sons, John and Joseph, brothers, Czeslaw, Jan, Alexander, and Felek, and sister, Helen. Visitation on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church 1950 Barnum Avenue Stratford. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
