Nidia Maryann Garcia, age 76, of Stratford, a retired sales associate of 15 years with Madison Jewelers, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in Bridgeport Hospital.

Born on September 12, 1949, in San Jaun De La Maguana, Dominican Republic to the late Ungria and Vianela Medina Solis Lorenzo. Nidia migrated to the United States at the age of 21 with her cousin Clara De Los Santos. At the age of 22 she met Raphael and the following year they were married. She was married for 51 loving years until her recent passing. In retirement, Nidia enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends, aswell as traveling with Raphael. She was a devout Cathloic who volunteered at St. James Parrish.

Nidia is survived by her beloved husband, Raphael V. Garcia, her devoted sons, Christopher Garcia and his wife Emily and Kevin Garcia and his wife Amanda, her cherished grandchildren, Colin, Caitlyn and Katrina, her sisters, Gisela Sánchez, Dilcia Castillo and Cibeles Hérnandez, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 9 – 10:30 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. A mass of Christian burial will take place at 11am in St James Church 2970 Main Street Stratford. Interment will be private.
