Nick Santangini, of Stratford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on February 19, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Louis and Frances (Venzzia) Santangini. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Alice; daughter Theresa Granger and her partner Michael Morneau, along with grandson Tyler Granger of Portland, CT; Daughter Elizabeth O’Connell and her husband Jeremy, with grandson Thomas and granddaughter Chloe of Sandy Hook, CT. Nick also leaves behind his sister Mary Owen of New Jersey, brother Gerald Santangini of New York, as well as several nieces, a nephew, and cousins.
Following his graduation from high school, Nick served with distinction for eight years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. He later relocated to Connecticut, where he met Alice and commenced his career in electrical engineering. His professional tenure included positions at Norden and Bunker Remo, with the majority of his career dedicated to Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford.
Nick was actively engaged in his religious community and was dedicated to service. In his early years, he taught religious education to deaf children, utilizing his proficiency in American Sign Language. He subsequently served as a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Grace in Stratford, was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus (Council 13228), and participated as a member of the Monsignor Thomas Moony Color Guard.
Funeral services are private and have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford.
A Memorial Mass and a celebration of life to be scheduled at a later time.
