–Nicholas Veranko, age 92, of Stratford died on Saturday, November 19, 2005 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Throop, PA to the late Josef and Mary Ezepchick Veranko, he was a resident of Stratford for over 60 years. Mr Veranko was a retired plater at Dresser Industries and was a WW #2 Veteran of the U.S.Army. He was a member of the Dresser Retirees and St Ambrose Seniors. He was the widower of Alice Peddle Veranko and is survived by his beloved daughters Susan Debreceni of Shelton, Mary Alice Conrad of Branford and Cathy Kulacz of Milford; five grandchildren Chris Debreceni of Phoenix, AZ, Michele Debreceni of New York City, Dana Pearson and her husband Joe of New Canaan, Matthew Conrad of Fairfield and Alison Kulacz of Milford; two great-grandsons Taylor and Jake Nicholas Debreceni; a sister Agnes Powichrowski of Stratford; two brothers Benjamin Veranko of Port St. Lucie, FL and Victor Voronko of Seymour and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister Lena and three brothers Michael, Wallace and Joseph. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:15 A.M. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford and at 10:00 A.M. in St Ambrose Church, Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will be in St John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 P.M.
