Nicholas Kraynak age 77 of Stratford passed away on Sunday June 24, 2007 in his home. Mr. Kraynak, a U.S. Army Veteran was born in Bridgeport to the late George and Julia (Kerpchar) Kraynak and has been a life long area resident. He was a retired butcher for A and P Grocery Store and was a life member of St. John's Orthodox Church in Stratford where he was a member of the choir and was a former church officer. He was also a member of VFW Post # 9460 and the CRS. Survivors include his devoted sisters Mary Nichols of Sandy Hook and Julieann Porter of Stratford a sister-in-law Lillian Kraynak of Bradford, MA, 13 nieces and nephews, 20 great-nieces and nephews and 22 great-grand nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Michael and George and sisters Anna Sutyak, Helen Michael and Elizabeth Stroborny. Funeral services will take place on Thursday June 28th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church Stratford for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford.
