Nicholas Raymond Cavanaugh, age 18, of Stratford, beloved son of Kimberly LaCroix and Gene Cavanaugh, passed away suddenly, on May 26, 2025.

Nicholas was born in Bridgeport on May 20, 2007, and had been a lifelong Stratford resident. He was a senior at Bunnell High School and was looking forward to starting his college career at Sacred Heart University this coming fall. In addition to his studies, he was employed by Burns Tire Exchange in Stratford and was an avid fisherman having caught a vast array of fish including his biggest Striped Bass in Cape Cod Massachusetts.

Survivors in addition to his loving parents, include his sister, Lyla Bay Cavanaugh, brother, Ryder Krieder, paternal grandmother, Janis Scharn, Godfather and Uncle, Greg Scharn, and the following uncles and aunts: Milton Scharn and wife Theresa, Edward Scharn and wife Lynn, Barton Scharn, Pat Scharn, Phil Scharn and wife Carol along with Richard Tenk his fishing & boating buddy and several cousins.  Nicholas was pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Helen LaCroix.

Visitation on Monday June 2nd from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday June 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. meeting directly at Our Lady of Grace Church 497 Second Hill Lane Stratford, interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford.
