Nellie Theresa Pagella, age 81, of Naugatuck, the beloved widow of Salvatore Pagella, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2012 in Waterbury Hospital. Born in Beacon, New York to the late Michael and Irene Giannotti, she has been a life long area resident living in Bridgeport until moving to Naugatuck a few years ago. Nellie was a sales clerk for Ann's Newfield Bakery in Bridgeport for many years. Survivors include her devoted daughters, Reni Montalvo of Naugatuck and Theresa Smith and husband Richard of Oxford, 5 Grandchildren, Anthony Mucherino, Lisa Mucherino, Tina Poginy and her husband James, Bryce Smith and his wife Fernada and Kimberly Soucie and her husband Joseph, 7 great-grandchildren Kelsea Mucherino, Tressa Soucie, Branden Smith, Deena Soucie, Nicole Smith, Ava Poginy and Joseph Soucie, a sister Josephine Pagella of Bridgeport and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 11:30am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 12 Noon in St. Ambrose Church Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Reginald Norman. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Monroe. In lieu of flowers the family request donations in Nellie's memory be made to a charity of ones choice.
