Nancy T. Balgach Povondra, age 64, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Frank X. Povondra, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Nancy was born in Bridgeport to the late Stephen and Mary (Mikusky) Balgach and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Dalhousie University in Canada and had a career as a librarian at Fairfield University. Nancy enjoyed spending her time relaxing, gardening, and decorating her cottage in East Haddam. Survivors include her beloved children, Katherine and Kevin Povondra both of Colorado, brother, Stephen Balgach and his wife Carol of Fairfield, sister, Carol Barry and her husband Thomas of Ashford, and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday January 4 ^th at 10 am meeting directly at St. Lawrence Church 505 Shelton Avenue Huntington. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford .
