Obituary

Murray H. "Scott" Morse III, 54, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Stratford, CT, on June 20, 2023. Scott was born in New York, NY on August 18, 1968, to Eleanor Peters Morse (since deceased) and Murray H. "Skip" Morse, Jr. Scott is survived by his two sons Alexander Samuel Morse of Stonington, CT and Mitchell Hayden Morse of Stratford, CT, his father, Murray H. "Skip" Morse Jr. (Anne) of Essex, CT; his brothers, Stephen Langdon Morse (Jen) of Fairfield, CT and Christopher Peters Morse (Rawleigh) of Weston, CT, and his former wife Tami-Lyn Wilson Morse of Stratford, CT. Scott attended Fairfield Country Day School, Choate Rosemary Hall, and the University of North Carolina. Scott had an eclectic business career in hospitality management and human resources. He was also a financial executive recruiter for independent consulting firms culminating in senior management corporate recruiting responsibilities for JPMorgan Chase & Co. in NYC. Scott was involved in many socially responsible civic and political endeavors in Stratford and thoroughly enjoyed coaching his sons' baseball teams all over CT and at East Coast tournaments. His greatest love was playing family (2on2) weekend competitive soccer, basketball, wiffleball and indoor soccer games with his two sons and father. He would never miss a Sunday Morning Pancake Breakfast which quickly became a staple in his household. Scott was an avid Red Sox and Cowboys fan which he continuously shared with his sons by attending numerous games and discussing which team would perform the best that year. Scott will forever be remembered as a caring, humorous, compassionate, and generous father, son, uncle and friend. A celebration of Scott's life will be held on Thursday, June 29th from 1:00 – 2:30 at the Shakespeare Theater grounds 1850 Elm Street, Stratford, CT. The family requests that in lieu of flowers those desiring may donate in Scott's memory to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Southwest CT Post Office Box 1582 New Canaan, CT 06840. The Adzima Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. A private burial will be held later at the family's discretion.
