Muir Anderson Jr, age 81, of Stratford, beloved husband of Ilene B. Stokum Anderson, passed away on Thursday March 27, 2014 in Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Anderson, a U.S. Army Veteran, was born in Jeannette, Pennsylvania to the late Muir and Isabelle (Morris) Anderson. He had worked for Jeannette Glass, and General Tire, before moving to Stratford, CT, where he had a long career as a Quality Control Supervisor for Ross and Roberts, before enjoying his retirement.   Muir was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast, and enjoyed cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins, but above all else, he loved spending time with his family and beloved grandchildren. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife, include his devoted children Muir Anderson III and his wife Jennifer of Middletown, Kimberly Lipecz and her husband Michael of Stratford, Robert Anderson and his wife Cathleen of Cheshire, and Stacey Shaw and her husband Michael of Stratford, 6 cherished grandchildren Muir IV, Ashley, Sarah, Noah, Emily, and Ryland, a sister Sally Cottrill of Greensburg, PA, and many loved in-laws, cousins, and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by a sister Nina Anderson. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, April 2nd at 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, with Rev. Meg Williams officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
