Obituary

Mitchell Thomas Teta, age 35, of Stratford, beloved husband of Sarah (Reilly) Teta and devoted father to Reese Michelle Teta, passed away on September 19, 2022, in his home surrounded by his family. Mitchell was born in Torrington on June 22, 1987 son of Thomas and Caroline Lauren (Cassidy) Teta. Mitch is survived by his wife, daughter, parents, brother Travis and his wife Megan Teta, and his first cousin David Vecca. Mitch is also survived by a large loving family and many devoted friends that showed unwavering support to Mitch, Sarah, and Reese.

Mitch graduated Pomperaug High School with honors and played tight end on the Undefeated 2004 State Championship Football Team. Mitch attended Southern Connecticut State University and Quinnipiac School of Law, both of which he graduated magna cum laude. He was an associate editor for the Quinnipiac Law Review and received the Academic Achievement Award in contracts.

Mitch practiced law for over 10 years most recently as a Partner at Dolan Divorce Lawyers and also served as a professor of business law at Housatonic Valley Community College. Mitch was a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association. In addition, Mitch served as a special master for the Bridgeport Superior Court and was a certified counselor of domestic violence.

Mitch and Sarah married on October 12, 2019. Sarah has been a devoted and loving wife to Mitch and demonstrated immense strength and compassion during his courageous battle with cancer. They welcomed their daughter Reese into the world on February 8, 2021. Mitch cherished every moment spent with Reese taking walks, going to the park or just playing in the house. One of Mitch's greatest passions was making his friends and family laugh. He also enjoyed playing the guitar, comedy, reading, the beach, kayaking with his wife and loving dog Augie, skiing, professional wrestling, and rooting for the Yankees and Eagles. Mitch was also passionate about his personal fitness and practiced Brazilian jiu jitsu.

Visitation on Thursday, September 29 th from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday September 30, 2022, at 11 a.m. meeting directly at Our Lady of Grace Church 497 Second Hill Lane Stratford. Interment will be private.
