Miriam Gross, age 93, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2021 at 4:30AM.

Miriam, aka Mimi, Aunt Mimi, and Grandma Miriam was born on May 29,1928 in Montreal, Canada. Her parents emigrated from Ukraine to Canada with her 3 siblings;  Julius, Anna, and Vera.  She came to the US at the age of 2 and her family settled in New York City.

Miriam grew up on the lower east side of Manhattan where her father Louis Miran, aka "Zayda", owned L and J Hosiery distributors.  She often told stories of how she loved helping out at her father's store.

Miriam was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker and made every effort to make sure her family's needs were met.  Murray, aka Moishe, was the greatest love of her life.  They were married on February 5, 1949. They were inseparable for 38 years before Murray's untimely death in 1985.  During those years, she created many happy memories for all of her family through birthday parties, seders, and holiday gatherings. Later in life, Miriam received the greatest enjoyment in bringing her big bag of gifts to our family's Thanksgiving gatherings at the Dalton House and we all couldn't wait to see what she brought.

Miriam is survived by her children Jessie and her husband Dan, and Brian Gross and his wife Sandie, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Brandon, Cameron, and Courtney and Chris. She had a great love for her nieces and nephews Martin, Bernice, Barry, Ira, Judy, and Robin as well as her great nieces and nephew.

Family and friends may attend a service to celebrate her life on Sunday November 21, 2021 at 9:30 AM at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, CT.

There will also be a graveside memorial service at the New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon, NY (Long Island). We will leave the funeral home at 10:30AM sharp and meet at the main office at the cemetery at 12:30PM . We will then proceed to the grave site for a 1pm service: Block 14 Section 4 Row 4 Grave site 23L
