Milton Perez Soto Sr., age 88, of the Huntington section of Shelton, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2011 in Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center with his family by his side. Born November 11, 1923 in Aguda, Puerto Rico to the late Arturo and Juana (Perez) Soto and has been a long time Bridgeport resident. Milton was a Veteran of the US Army and served during the WWII and the Korean War. He was a retired Tool and Die Setter with the Basick Company with 40 years of service. Milton was a long time parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Bridgeport and a loyal member of Santo Nombre`. He was an avid Yankee fan that liked to play Dominos and loved his morning jogs. His favorite past time was spending time with his family. Survivors include his six children: Migdalia Soto, Carmen Santiago, Milton Soto Jr., Eriberto Soto, Mariam Taska and Orlando Soto; twelve (12) Grandchildren; thirteen (13) great-grandchildren; six (6) great-great-grandchildren; two (2) brothers; four (4) sisters and several nieces and nephews. Milton was predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years Carmen Matos Soto. His smile and baritone voice will be missed greatly. His family would like to acknowledge the 2nd floor staff at Lord Chamberlain, for their kindness and gentle care and Dr James Ralabate for his professionalism and care. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, August 17 at 8:00am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 9:00 am in St. Mary's Church Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Full Military Honors will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 pm.
