Mildred DiPietro Rocco, of Orange, beloved wife of the late Michael W. Rocco, passed away on her 97th birthday, Sunday, January 24, 2016. Mildred, a retired clerk for St. John's Catholic Medical Center in New York, was born in Guttenberg, New Jersey to the late Antonino and Josephine (Barbaro) DiPietro, and has been a long time area resident. She was a member of the Orange Seniors. Mildred loved to sing and dance and enjoyed bowling, and traveling, especially taking cruises with her late husband Michael and their family. Survivors include her devoted children, Maria Russo and her husband Tino of Orange, Michael A. Rocco and his wife Vera of Danbury, and Josette Apostolo and her husband Gary of NY, 5 cherished grandchildren, Michael, Marisa, and Anthony Russo, Juliette Penn and her husband Michael, and Steven Apostolo and his wife Christina, 3 great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Grace and Summer, 2 sisters, Anna Caponegro and Josephine Mattiaccio and her husband Ralph all of NJ, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by a brother Tony DiPietro and a sister Antoinette Hamilton. Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 29th at 9 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in Holy Infant Church Orange for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton.
