Mildred (Millie) Moroz (Schauwecker) Mate, age 89, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Alexander Mate, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2014. Millie was born on April 11, 1925 in Stratford, to the late Michael and Josephine (Elkof) Moroz. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and spending time with her family. She leaves behind her daughter Jacqueline Coen, and her son Keith Schauwecker, both of Bridgeport, 4 cherished grandchildren, Kevin Coen and his wife Tara, Janice Edmonds and her husband Lance, Jennifer Ferrara and her husband Todd, and Nicole Newman, as well as 4 great-grandchildren, Ryan Reed, Tyler Ferrara, Justin Gendron, and Olivia Edmonds, a son-in-law Chris Newman, and a host of nieces and nephews. Millie was pre-deceased by her daughter, Doreen Newman, and her loving first husband John E. Schauwecker. Friends may greet her family on Thursday, June 5th from 10:30-12Noon in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. Inurnment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery, Milford.
