Mildred Nykorchuk Buskey, age 97, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Albert W. Buskey, passed away on December 22, 2016 in her home. Mildred, a retired inspector for Robert Shaw Industries, was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to the late Nicholas and Anastasia (Zboroluk) Nykorchuk and has been a longtime area resident. She was a life member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Bridgeport, where she was a member of their Choir and past-treasurer of the Woman's Sisterhood. Mildred was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and U-Conn's Woman's Basketball. She was also a member of the Baldwin Center where she enjoyed playing Pinochle. Survivors include her devoted daughters, Patricia Scott and her husband Dave of Stratford and Katherine Corum of Wallingford, grandsons, Jamison Scott and his wife Sarah, and Curtis Corum and his wife Heidi, 4 great-grandchildren, Caroline, Elizabeth, and Jamison Scott, and Joshua Corum, sisters, Katherine Zorka and Dorothy Lewis, nieces, Kathleen Danilowicz and her husband Michael and their children, Tamara and Aleksandr, Linda Young and her husband Richard, and Susan Emerson and her husband Dave, a nephew, Walter Pittam, and her special caregiver, Peggy Johnson. In addition to her husband and parents, Mildred was pre-deceased by her granddaughter, Cindy, son-in-law Wes Corum, sister, Mary Jergens and her husband Raymond, brother, Paul Nykorchuk, niece, Janet, and great-niece, Meredith. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, December 28 ^th at 9:15 am in the Adzima Funeral 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:00 am in St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 10 Oakwood Street, Bridgeport, for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 pm. Panakhyda will be at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations in memory of Mildred to St. Mary's Church.
