Mickie Ambrose, age 83 of Seymour the beloved widow of Paul Ambrose Sr., passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 after an extended illness. Mickie, a retired financial office manager for Arthur's Department Store was born in Bridgeport to the late Ersilio and Josephine (Filippini) DeSalle and has been a lifelong area resident. Mickie loved sports and was a huge fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and UConn teams. Mickie, also known as "Shorty", loved birds, flowers and her family; she selflessly helped raise her 3 grandchildren as her own. "The food pusher" as she was referred to, cooked up amazing Sunday Dinners that were not to be missed. And if you said "no" to a third helping of food you would often have to face the dreaded question: "why?". Survivors include her devoted son Paul and his wife Marie of Seymour, 3 cherished grandchildren, Jamie Ambrose of Shelton, David Ambrose and his wife Julia of Shelton, and Dawn Cavaliere and her husband James of Stratford, 3 great-grandchildren Reese, Quinn and Peyton. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 30th at 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 11:30 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, Devon for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m.
