Michael M. Spinelli, age 93, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Maria Maffia Spinelli, passed away on May 20, 2017 in Bridgeport Hospital. Michael, a self-employed barber, was born in Bridgeport on October 18, 1923 to the late Ercole and Maria (Sacchetti) Spinelli and has been a life long area resident. He was an avid gardener, was a champion chess player and also enjoyed fishing. Survivors include his 4 devoted children, Earl Spinelli and his wife Suzanne, Maria Spinelli, Angela Nizzardo and her husband Philip, Concetta (Connie Nolfi) Saxl and her husband Richard, 7 cherished grandchildren: Michael and Mary Spinelli, Philip and his wife Robyn, Daniele and David Nizzardo, and Taylor and Austin Nolfi, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Michael was pre-deceased by his brothers, Pasquale, Antonio and Dominic. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 26 ^th at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford. Entombment will be in St. Michael's Garden Mausoleum. Friends may greet his family on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford.
