Michael A. Pavlik Jr., age 86, of Shelton, beloved husband of Minnie Wildman Pavlik, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 7, 2022, in his home.
Mike was born in Danbury on October 19, 1935, to the late Michael and Olga (Lokaj) Pavlik and had been a longtime area resident. He was a U.S. Army veteran and prior to his retirement, was a well-known hairdresser and the owner of Colonial House of Charm Salon in Milford. After his retirement Mike worked as a security guard for Pitney Bowes. He was a life member of the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist in Bridgeport, where in his youth was a member of the basketball and baseball teams. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed fly tying, drawing, and walking the beaches of Bridgeport and Stratford. Mike also enjoyed traveling and visiting the casino.
Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of 63 years include his sister, Katherine Henetz, brother, John Pavlik and his wife Gail, brother-in-law, William Wildman, sister-in-law, Anna Pavlik and many wonderful and loving nieces and nephews. He is also survived by several cousins, and life-long friends. In addition to his parents, Mike was pre-deceased by his brother, Robert, sister, Joan, and brother-in-law, Michael Henetz. A special recognition and gratitude to nephew, Michael and his wife Mary Henetz and their family and friends, Marie Cannotti and Ruth Olah for their devotion and assistance over the past year.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 13 th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, and at 10:00 a.m. in the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery; Monroe.
Friends may greet his family on Thursday from 3-6 p.m. Panachida at 4:30 p.m.
In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to St. John's Church or the Lung Association in memory of Michael.
