Michael G. Mojcik, 90, of Stratford passed away peacefully on February 15, 2015, at Griffin Hospital. He was the beloved husband for 65 years of Theresa Suich. He was born in Bridgeport, CT, to Michael and Anna Mojcik, the fourth of five children. A graduate of Harding High School in Bridgeport, he served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he was a Pharmacist's Mate. He returned home and graduated from the University of Bridgeport with an Associate's Degree in Art. He worked at the A&P Grocery store and for 33 years at Sikorsky Aircraft. Michael was the loving father to four children. He is predeceased by his daughter, Lorraine Cerfolio. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Karen McNally; son Dr. Michael S. Mojcik and his wife Susan; son Dr. Christopher F. Mojcik and his wife RoBin; and son-in-law Dr. Robert Cerfolio. He has nine grandchildren: Daniel Mojcik, Thomas McNally, Arla Washenko and her husband Peter, Mary Mojcik, Robert Cerfolio, Catherine Mojcik, Charles Mojcik, Alec Cerfolio, and Matthew Cerfolio. He has been blessed with many devoted nieces and nephews. As a young man Michael played semi-professional baseball. In his adult years he was an avid golfer and enjoyed camping. His greatest pleasure however, came from spending time with his family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 23 at 10:30 am at Saint James Church, 2070 Main Street Stratford; Entombment with full military honors will be in Mountain Grove Cemetery Bridgeport. Friends may call Sunday from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
