Michael Macura, age 84, of Bridgeport, passed into eternal peace on March 19, 2017, leaving U Conn Girls Basketball and Giants Football with one less devoted fan. Michael served in the U.S. Army for 2 years in Korea. Upon his return to civilian life he worked at Sikorsky Aircraft as a clerk, and then at Bryant Electric as a manager until his retirement. Uncle Mike was a master of jigsaw puzzles, played a mean game of pool, and loved gambling at the casinos and in Las Vegas. He enjoyed talking sports, DelPrete's Bakery, and the search for the best banana split. He leaves behind his angels, nieces, Karen Russo of California, Dawn Kohlman of Colorado, Nadine Murray of North Carolina, nephew, Glen Macura of New York and sister-in-law Arlene Macura of Colorado. The Macura family would like to thank the staff at Cambridge Manor, and Bridgeport Hospital's ED, ICU and Level 10, for their kindness and compassion at this time. Per uncle Mike's request there is no formal funeral. Instead, he requested you remember him by going out to dinner, getting dessert and sharing a memory of him that makes you smile. Everyone's happiness is different- wise words Uncle Mike- we will always carry you in our hearts. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home-Stratford.
