Michael J. Kovalsky, age 75 of Stratford, the beloved husband of June Hansen Kovalsky, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 in Bridgeport Hospital. Michael, a U.S. Navy Veteran was born in Bridgeport to the late Michael S. Kovalsky and Mary Adam Kovalsky Matyi and has been a life long area resident. He was a retired printer for Trumbull Printing, and was a member of the Germania-Schwaben Club where he served on the Board of Governors as well as holding many offices, and the Czecho Club of Shelton. Michael enjoyed fishing with his best buddy Tom Demanchyk, and taking trips to the Casino's, and playing horseshoes. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include his step-children, Diane Johnson (Jeffrey) of Kensington, and Carl Miller of Farmington, step-grandson, Rick Armetta(Stephanie) of Southington, a brother, Paul Kovalsky of Naugatuck, a sister, Mary Rosko of Wallingford, a special niece Mary Elizabeth Connors (Brian), a nephew and several nieces. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his stepfather, John Matyi and brother-in-law, Jozef Rosko. The Kovalsky family would like to thank the 6th floor staff of Bridgeport HCC and 2 special CNA's, Sheila and Anita, and their special neighbors, the Sciuto Family, the Welch Family and Karen and Guy Simpson for their kind and loving care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 28th at 10:30 in Our Lady of Grace Church 298 Second Hill Lane Stratford (Meet Directly at Church). Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations in Michael's memory to the American Diabetes Association PO Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312 or to a charity of choice.
