Michael (Mike) Hricus age 87 of Fairfield passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at home with his loving wife, Dorothy by his side.

Born in Bridgeport on August 19, 1935, to the late Thomas and Margaret (Kalakay) Hricus. Mike was a veteran of the United States Army and worked for the Bullard Company as a foreman and retired from Sikorsky Aircraft as an inspector. He was the past   President of the First Plavecky Society of the Holy Trinity and was very proud of his Slovak Heritage.  Mike loved sports and participated in many of them.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 64 years, Dorothy Gerak Hricus, his children, Michael (Tammy) Hricus and Jaclyn Hongo (Paul) grandchildren, Paul Hongo, III, Ashley Barnash (Bryan), Ryan Hongo, a great-granddaughter, Brynlee Barnash.  sisters, Marion Bichun and Margaret Wallick (Dimitri), sister-in-law, Virginia "Ginger" Konecny and several nieces and a nephew. In addition to his parents, Mike was pre-deceased by his brother, Thomas Hricus.

The family would like to give special thanks to the V.A. Hospital especially Dr. Spellmen and the Carlton Convalescent Home Rehabilitation Department.

Visitation on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 9:15 -10:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.

Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Assumption Church 545 Stratfield Road Fairfield, Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
