Michael Dattilo of Stratford passed away August 26, 2011 at Bridgeport Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Anne Kolcun Dattilo. His children and their spouses, Dale and Bill Janega, Dianne and George Alldredge, Michele Dattilo, Richard Dattilo, Robert and Kathleen Dattilo. His grandchildren: Billy, Michael, Ana, Vicky, Jake, Kristen, Jason, Leslie, Joseph, Jessica, Mickey, Kaitlyn, Kellie and great granddaughter Jordyn. He is preceded in death by his parents Giuseppe and Antonia Dattilo and John and Anna Kolcun. His siblings Josephine, Mary, Domenica, Ignazio, Tony, Malfalda, Yolanda, and Louis. Also, his cousin and best friend Bart. Michael served our country during World War II in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Witter, DE 636. He was an NRA instructor with the Bridgeport Rifle Club, and was a marksman winning several shooting tournaments. He was a member of the Bridgeport Rifle Club, the NRA, the East End Yacht Club, the Veterans Association and the Italian Community Center. He loved shooting, fishing, photography, teaching and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Michael, lived life to the fullest and would always lend a helping hand, he greeted everyone with a smile. He loved telling jokes and always made everyone laugh. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday September 1st at 1:00 p.m. in St. Mark's Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Military honors will be held immediately following. Interment will be private. Friends may greet his family prior to Mass from 11- 12:30 in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations in Michael's memory to the WW II Memorial at WWII Memorial Processing Center P.O.
