Michael Botsko, age 83, of Southbury, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 in Waterbury Hospital. Michael was born in Bridgeport on May 15, 1933 to the late Michael and Mary (Orlovski) Botsko and has been a resident of the Southbury Training School for the past 74 years. Even with Michael's many handicaps, he loved to work at what he could, years back he enjoyed working with flowers in the greenhouse, and also, helped in the office. His last job working at the Roselle School Work Shop was his favorite. Michael was a Red Sox fan, and he was thrilled when the Patriots won the Super Bowl.  Survivors include his devoted sisters, Helen Rozdil of Maefair Nursing Home in Trumbull, Ann Belejack of Wallingford and his devoted brother and guardian, Robert Botsko and his wife Alice of Stratford, nephews, John Botsko and his wife Jeanne, Edward Botsko and his wife Barbara, nieces, Susan Ziman and husband Doug, Janet Molzan and husband Herb, MaryAnn Kowal and husband Al and Barbara Belejack. In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by a brother, John and his wife Nancy. The Botsko family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Waterbury Hospital for their wonderful care of Michael. They would also like to thank the staff at the Southbury Training School, the doctors, nurses and special caregivers of Cottage 16, who have been most kind and caring for the many years Michael has lived there.  Requiem Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 21 ^st at 11:00 a.m. meeting directly at the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, 364 Mill Hill Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Calling hours have been omitted. The Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
