Obituary

Michael Bilischko, age 97, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Mary Zalewski Bilischko, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 14, 2012, with his son at his side in West River Health Center, Milford. Mr. Bilischko, a WW II Veteran of the U.S. Army, was born in Bridgeport to the late Alexander and Helen (Kerekman) Bilischko, and has been a life long area resident, graduating from Harding High School. After his retirement as a carpenter at Sikorsky Aircraft for 21 years, Michael enjoyed playing golf, and being a loyal member of the VFW, in Devon. However, first and foremost he enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He had a unique special gift for making friends, always had a genuine sincere smile for everyone, and had great enthusiasm for life. He will now join his beloved wife Mary with open arms in Heaven. Survivors include his devoted son Michael P. and his wife June (Figuly) Bilischko Sr. of Hamden, his cherished grandchildren Michael P. Bilischko Jr, of Milford, and Kelly Bilischko of Hamden, his loyal brother John Bilischko, of Farmington, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Michael was pre-deceased by his brothers Stephen, George, and William and sisters Anna, Mary, Eva, Ann, and Dorothy Bilischko, Julia Serknis, and Susan Snee. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday December 18th at 11 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, with Very Rev. David Cochran officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10 –11 a.m.
