Maureen Patricia Sara entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 6, 2021, with her beloved husband, Wayne, by her side.

Born in Syracuse, New York, on September 5, 1959, to Robert Patrick Shea and Isabel Marie Smith Shea, Maureen was raised in Fairfield, Connecticut, where her family moved when she was 6.  She was a graduate of Sacred Heart University and was employed at Purdue Frederick in Norwalk for many years.  She and Wayne were married in 1981 and recently celebrated 40 years of marriage together.  Maureen was one of a kind, a person whose kindness, intelligence, and humor will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.  She loved to travel and spend time with her husband and children.

Surviving are her husband, Wayne, and their five children: Daniel Sara of Stratford; Megan and her husband Mike Adams of Westfield, MA; Brian Sara, USN, of San Diego, CA; Lauren Sara and her partner Alison Curcio of Bridgeport; Timothy Sara and his partner Emily Rogers of Ridgewood Queens, NY.  Also surviving are her brother, Joseph Shea and his wife Dee of Hudson, MA; brother, Robert Shea and his wife Linda of Stratford; sister, Barbara Ezepchick and her husband Bill of Shelton; brother, Michael Shea of Norcross, GA; and brother-in-law, Kevin Sara and his wife Tami of Waterbury, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family may visit on Thursday, November 11th, from 4- 7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Masks are required, as visitors walk through, pay their respects, and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through the building.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. meeting directly in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton.
