Maureen A. Grom, 88, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 4th. She was pre-deceased by her longtime companion Perk Richards.

Maureen was born on February 6, 1935 in Bridgeport, daughter of George Grom and Mary Pistey Grom.

Mo (as she was called by friends and family) attended Laurelton Hall where she developed lifelong friendships. She received her BS at Central Connecticut State College and her sixth year Masters at Fairfield University. Mo went on to teach in Bridgeport for 39 years.

Mo was an avid golfer with a past membership at Hillandale Country Club and then Oronoque Country Club where she both resided and was awarded a Life Membership for her donation of time to its success. She was also a member of Connecticut Women's Golf Association (CWGA) as well as the Retired Teachers Association.

Mo leaves behind her brother George W. Grom of Stratford and sister Rita Dulski of New Jersey. In addition, Mo was a beloved aunt to George Grom and spouse Mary, Charlene McClaughlin and spouse George, Elliott and spouse Norma, Laura Grom and Jeffrey Grom. Bonnie Wilson of Arizona was Mo's special cousin along with numerous nieces and nephews who had a special place in their hearts for Aunt Mo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 11 a.m. meeting directly at Saint Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. All other services are private. The Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford has been entrusted with the arrangements.
