Maureen A. (Brady) Doherty, age 67 of Stratford, Connecticut, beloved wife of Peter F. Doherty, passed away suddenly in her home on July 23, 2023, while packing for a trip to Cape Cod, Massachusetts (her "happy place"). Maureen was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on August 4, 1955, to the late Earl J. and Barbara (McNamara) Brady and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Bunnell High School, class of 1973, where she was the pride of the Business Department, being selected "Miss Future Business Leader of Connecticut" and was also a Barnum Festival candidate. She was an insurance agent for Scott Insurance Company of Stratford for 50 years. She spent her adult life volunteering in such roles as PTA president, Sterling House Board, Perry House Board, etc. Her passions included her grandsons, planning parties and decorating her house for every holiday.
Survivors in addition to her beloved husband of 48 years, include her devoted sons, Peter R. Doherty and his wife Amy of Pawling, New York; Ryan Doherty and his wife Ashley of Stratford, Connecticut; two cherished grandsons, Fox and Nate; a brother, Michael Brady of Boston, Massachusetts; several nieces and nephews; sisters in-law and loving cousins. In addition to her parents, Maureen was predeceased by her brothers, James and John Brady.
Friends may visit with Maureen's family on Monday, July 31, 2023, from 4-7 P.M. at the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, Connecticut.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 10 A.M. meeting directly at St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford, Connecticut. Interment will follow in Lawn Cemetery East Huntington, Connecticut.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sterling House of Stratford or the Stratford Library Association.
