Mary Elizabeth Williams, age 101, of Stratford, beloved wife of 67 years to the late Eugene Vincent Williams, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Griffin Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

 Mary was born on August 1, 1924, in Georgetown, to the late Luigi and Giacinta (DiMartino) DioGuardio, and had been a lifelong area resident. She retired from St. Vincent’s Medical Center, where she worked as an RN for many years.

 Survivors include her devoted children, Patricia Gabucci, Michael Williams, and Mark Williams and his wife, Marianne; her cherished grandchildren, Seth, Bryan, Shannan and Brendan Williams; four great-grandchildren, Mahala Williams, Willow, Oliver, and Theo Perkins-Williams; and her nephew, James DiOrio. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by her sister, Rose DiOrio; her daughter-in-law, Mahala Williams; and her son-in-law, George Gabucci. 

The family would like to extend thanks to the staff and caregivers at Wesley Heights and Bishop Wicke of Shelton for taking care of our beloved mom and nana. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, from 4–7 p.m. at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., meeting directly at St. James Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull.
