Mary I Sharnick, age 91 of Stratford, died Saturday, October 25, 2008 in the Arden House in Hamden. Born in Seanor, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Mary Marcinko Shema, she has been a life long area resident. She was the widow of Joseph Sharnick and was retired from the Bay Company with over 20 years of service as the most liked Supervisor. Survivors include her beloved brother and sister Paul Shema and Helen Liska; a brother-in law Robert Sharnick and his wife Veronica, 2 sisters-in-law Mary Toraya and Carolyn Sharnick, nephews Jan Liska, Raymond Liska and his wife Karen, Robert Liska and his wife Paula and Wayne Sharnick and his wife Mary; nieces Lisa Cullen and her husband Larry, Joy Toraya-Johnson and her husband Joseph, Tina Toraya-Sudy and her husband Brian, Cheryl Mallick and her husband James, Bonnie Filakovsky and her husband Michael and several great nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2008 in Holy Name of Jesus Church Stratford. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Stratford.
