Mary Hodowanitz Nidoh, age 89, of Stratford, the widow of Peter Nidoh, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013 in Lord Chamberlain HCC, Stratford. Mrs. Nidoh, a retired Mechanical Inspector for Textron-Lycoming was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late Michael and Anna (Plishka) Hodowanitz, and has been a long time area resident. She was a graduate of Scranton High School, and enjoyed bowling, dancing the Polka, following the Boston Red Sox, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mary was a faith filled woman, and was a parishioner of St. Michael's Church, Bridgeport. Survivors include her devoted sons Donald Nidoh and his wife Gayle of Cheshire and Michael Nidoh of Shelton, 2 grandchildren David Nidoh of NY, and Laura Carr and her husband Adam of PA, a brother Gregory Hodowanitz and his wife Mary of NJ, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents she was pre-deceased by brothers John, Michael, Nicholas and sister Ann. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday October 16th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in St. Michael the Archangel Church Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Monroe. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations in Mary's memory to St. Michael's Church.
