Mary B. Malchisky, age 96, formerly of Stratford, now living in Rumford, Maine, the widow of George Malchisky, died Friday, October 13, 2006, in Rumford Community Home. Born in Snow Shoe, Pennsylvania, to the late Andrew and Mary Billy Basala, she had lived most of her life in Stratford before moving to Maine 11 years ago. She was a retired packer for Remington Arms Co. in Bridgeport and a member of Remington Arms Quarter Century Club. Mary loved to garden and cherished her rose gardens. Survivors include a son Edward Malchisky of Rumford, Maine, a sister Ann Sature of Lodi, NJ, 2 grandsons Rupert and George Malchisky of Rumford, Maine, 6 great grandchildren Aimee Lazaaro, Angela, Jennifer, Mary, Matthew and Randy Malchisky; 2 great-great grandchildren Hailee and Chelsie Lazaro, several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by a son George Malchisky, grandson Brian Malchisky, sisters Martha LaValle, Julia Malchisky, Mary Basala; brothers Michael Basala, Steve Basala, George Bartek and Edward Bartek. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 9:15 am in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford and at 10:00 am in St. John the Baptist Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, Broadbridge Avenue, Stratford with a Requiem Funeral Service. Internment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 pm. Panihida will b e at 6:30 pm.
