Mary Vagassky Lahita, age 85 of Trumbull, the widow of Michael Lahita, passed away on Monday April 19, 2010 in Bridgeport Hospital. Mrs. Lahita, a retired assembler for General Electric was born in Hatalov, Czechoslovakia to the late John and Maria (Haeulak) Vagassky and has been a long time Trumbull resident. She was a wonderful cook and baker and was an avid gardener;she truly enjoyed the entertainment from the three grandchildren with whom she lived. Survivors include her beloved children Michael Lahita and his wife Theresa of OK, Joseph Lahita and his wife Helen of NY, Martha Sayles of NM, Maryann Lahita of OK, and Betty Cimmino and her husband Anthony of Trumbull who lived with and cared for Mary, 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law Anna Olah of Stratford, and Veronica Lahita of NM and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and beloved husband Mary was pre-deceased by her grandson Sean Caselli, twin sister Barbara, brothers John, Michael and Steven and sisters Anna and Maria, a nephew Daniel Jakub and a niece Diane Mayernick. Funeral services will take place on Friday April 23rd at 9 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church Ortega St Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
