Mary Stefan (Knapp), age 89, of Stratford passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025.  Born on November 2, 1935, in Bridgeport to the late Joseph and Lillian (Nicholas) Edo, she was a lifelong resident of Stratford and retired from Sikorsky Aircraft. A devoted mother and cherished family member, Mary nurtured her children and grandchildren with unconditional love and support throughout her life.

She is survived by her children Douglas Knapp of Florida, Diane Stein (Howard) of Milford, son-in-law, William Vittorio, step-sons, Gary Stefan (Dara) and Keith Stefan, cherished grandchildren, Kristina Streep,  Craig Vittorio (Katie), Alyson LaCroix (Nick), Tyler Vittorio, Andrew Stein (Abby), and Marisa Restrepo (Julian), Keith and Christopher Stefan, several great-grandchildren, a sister, Irene Wargo, a devoted friend, Michael Doran and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was pre-deceased by her husbands, Harold Knapp, and John Stefan, daughter, Debra Vittorio, and brothers, Dominic and Reginald Edo.

Visitation on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 11:45 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Gren Place Stratford. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
