Obituary

Mary (Mae), Left the Earth to join her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at Orange Health Care. Mary was born on November 13, 1915 in Dupont, Pennsylvania. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph, her parents, Leo and Mary Kleynowski, her brothers Stanley, John, Louis, Joseph and Frank Kleynowski, and her sisters, Veronica Kleynowski, Betty Wallace, Julie Agrillo, and Leona Carr. Mary is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and Gerald Smith of Stratford, Connecticut. Three loving grandchildren, each having a special place in her heart. Jeffrey Smith and wife Susan of Orange, Connecticut. Sharon Talbott and husband William of Fort Collins, Colorado and Gregory Smith and wife Dana of Orange, Connecticut. Four wonderful great-grandchildren, James, Jacob, Alec and Meghan Smith of Orange, Connecticut. Mary was never happier than when she was surrounded by her family. She is also survived by her loving sister, Lottie Hoban of Dupont, Pennsylvania and her loving sister-in-law, Victoria Kleynowski of Stratford, Connecticut and sisters-in-law Helen Bovienzo of Bridgeport, Connecticut and Margaret Kafara of New York and many nieces and nephews. Mary was extremely proud of being a member of St. Joseph's Women's Society for the Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament and worked diligently with her sisters in Christ for the Society and St. Joseph's Church. Mary met her husband Joseph in Church in Throop, Pennsylvania and they were married for sixty-three years. Both of them were diligent workers in the building of St. Joseph's Church in Stratford. She was retired from Sikorsky Aircraft where she worked for many years as a riveter. For the past two years, Mary has resided at the Orange Health Care facility in Orange, Connecticut. Her loving family would like to gratefully acknowledge: Dr. Schioppo for his care and compassion, Andree Acompora for making her facility feel like a second home for Mom, to Donna, Heather, Mary Ellen, Kathy and Jan who could always be relied upon during difficult times and to Karen who was so caring at the end. God Bless the Nursing Assistants, each giving their own special loving care to Mary and to the Staff Nurses who never failed to be her Guardian Angels and to all the others at Orange Health Care who contributed to Mom's care. And a thank you to Mindy Roth for all her years of friendship and care giving. A special thank you to Father Anthony Kopka and Cleric Michael Misulli who always kept Mom in their prayers. Funeral services will take place on Saturday March 4, 2006 at 9:00 am (DIRECTY) in St. Joseph's Polish National Church 1300 Stratford Road, Stratford. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery Stratford (next to the church) Friends may call on Friday from 4 – 8 pm in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford The family requests that in lieu of flowers, any memorial donations may be made in Mary's name to the St. Joseph's National Catholic Church Building and Development Fund, 1300 Stratford Road, Stratford, CT.
