Mary Pawlowski Jurgielewicz (Monya), age 100, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late John Joseph Jurgielewicz Jr. (Willie), passed away on April 7, 2018 in her home. Monya was born in Bridgeport on July 14, 1917 to the late Michael and Mary (Kolakowski) Pawlowski and has been a lifelong area resident. Monya was a loving wife and mother. She was an avid gardener, feeding her children organic food long before it was popular. She sewed, chauffeured, cooked, deeply loved and raised five children. She loved to dance and listen to music. St. Mary's by the Sea and Seaside Park were special places where she and Willie would visit often. Survivors include her devoted children Kristine Mary Auerswald (Steven) of Virginia, Andrea Mary Arellano (Daniel) of California, Jan Jurgielewicz III (Patricia) of Redding, Diane Mary Yourie (Ralph) of Florida, and David Jurgielewicz (Patricia) of Easton; 6 grandchildren: Jan Jurgielewicz IV, John Arellano, Emily Yourie-Sands (Matthew), Allison Lynch (Sean), Andrew Jurgielewicz, and Dana Jurgielewicz; 4 step grandchildren: Christopher, Michael, Lisa, and Cathy Arellano; 2 great-grandchildren: Jack and Zoe, and many nieces and nephews. Monya's family gives a special thank you to Latoya Guman, her very loving and devoted caregiver for the past three years.   Also, thank you to the nurses on the NW 7 Team at Bridgeport Hospital. Monya was greatly loved and will be missed by all. Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 13th at 9:15 AM in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, and at 10 AM in St. Michael the Archangel Church, 310 Pulaski Street, Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet Monya's family on Thursday from 4-7 PM at Adzima Funeral Home.
