Mary Irene (Kirlik) Jordan, 96, passed away, after a short illness, at home in Stratford CT on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Mary was the long-time Office Manager for the Stratford Town Recreation Department.

Mary was born on May 10, 1928, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to the late John and Mary (Musicka) Kirlik. She was a National Honors Society graduate of Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport and, before marriage, worked for the General Electric Co. in Bridgeport. She married John Francis Jordan, of Bridgeport, CT, on Nov, 13, 1948.  After his death in 1979, she went back to school to sharpen her secretarial skills and then worked for the town Recreation Department for 25 years before retiring in 2003. She lived much of her married life on Sands Place in Stratford, then lived for 25 years at Oronoque Village before moving in with her daughter Karen for her final years.

Mary is survived by her five daughters: Mary Ann Cukierski and her late husband, Patrick, of Danbury, CT; Linda Torcia and her husband, Anthony; Karen Simon and her husband, James, of Stratford, CT;  Judy Claar and her husband, Richard, of Virginia Beach, VA; and Cathy Betz and her husband, Chad, of Milford, CT.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Kevin, Nicole, Shaun, Evan, Brittany, Christopher, Jordan and Anna; as well as two great grandsons, Keylan and Bryce; and nephews Blase, Todd, and Jeffrey.  Mary was predeceased by her brother, William Kirlik, and sister Helen Lutheran.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, April 3, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, in Stratford CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, April 4, at 10 a.m. St. James Church, 2110 Main St., in Stratford CT, followed by a burial at St. John's Cemetery, 2610 Nichols Ave., in Stratford.
