Mary Alice Hudzik, age 72, of Trumbull, CT died on November 10, 2016, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). She was a graduate of Harding High School in Bridgeport, CT and the Fashion Institute of Technology – NYC. Survivors include her sister, Patricia Ness (Philip) of Maryland, sister, Ellen H. Costa, of Fairfield, CT, sister, Paula Gallagher (James) of Simsbury, CT, sister, Cecilia Hudzik, of Fairfield, CT and brother, Michael Hudzik (Susan) of Trumbull, CT, 14 nieces and nephews, 25 grand nieces and nephews, one great niece and many friends. Mary Alice was a fashion designer and stylist for many NYC based companies including Garan, Rob Roy, Starter and Castlewood/Sandalwood. She designed clothing ranging from children's "Garanimals" to men's outerwear throughout her career. She enjoyed entertaining her family in NYC during her many years of living there, introducing them all to the theatre and new cultural cuisines. She loved gardening, the beach, dining out, music and spending time with family and friends. She was very loved and will be greatly missed. Mary Alice's family wishes to thank her devoted, supportive and caring health care providers: Dr. David Witt and the staff at Oncology Associates of Bridgeport and Dr. Kavitha Gopalratnam and the Bridgeport Hospital ICU staff. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 directly at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield, CT at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. Friends and family may call on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, CT.
